Before & After Photo Comparison

Put two progress photos side by side or one above the other, add dates and labels, and download the result. Side by side, each image is scaled to fit 600 by 800 pixels; stacked, 900 by 533. The pair is trimmed to match, so nothing is stretched, and the download is one feed-sized PNG, ready to post or keep beside the next one.

How the comparison is made

Both photographs are drawn into a canvas element inside this page, and that is the whole mechanism. Side by side, each one is scaled to fit inside 600 by 800 pixels, keeping its aspect ratio by taking the smaller of the two ratios, so nothing is stretched, and both are then trimmed to the shorter of the two heights so the pair lines up. Stacked, each is first fitted inside 900 by 533 and both are then refitted to the narrower of the two widths. Around them the layout adds 20 pixels of padding, a 60-pixel band for each label row, a 4-pixel divider between the two images and a 30-pixel footer, so a side-by-side image is at most about 1,240 pixels wide and a stacked one about 940. Nothing is upscaled.

The result is a new image built from yours. Nothing is enhanced, colour-corrected, aligned or retouched, and no measurement is taken of either photograph — if the light or the angle changed between the two, that difference is in the picture and the tool cannot tell it apart from the change you are documenting.

Your files are read by this page and drawn into the canvas by your own browser, and the download button saves what the canvas holds to your own device.

Why progress is invisible day to day

Progress is often invisible day-to-day. You don't notice the weight you've lost, the muscle you've gained, the clarity in your skin, or the light in your eyes because the changes happen gradually. That's why before and after photos are so powerful.

A side-by-side comparison cuts through the noise of daily perception and shows you the truth: you've changed. Whether it's a fitness transformation, a sobriety journey, a home renovation, or a creative project, seeing then vs. now is deeply motivating.

Create your comparison, download it, and share it on your terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What resolution are the output images?

Side by side, each photo is scaled to fit inside 600 by 800 pixels, so the finished PNG is at most about 1,240 pixels wide. Stacked, each photo fits inside 900 by 533, so the image is at most about 940 pixels wide. Nothing is upscaled: that is a size for a feed post, not for print.

Can I customize the layout?

Yes. You can add custom labels (e.g., "Day 1" / "Day 90"), dates, and choose between side-by-side or top-bottom layouts.
